Accounting & Controlling Lead

For our Finance Team we are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled all-round Accounting & Controlling Lead. Are you precise, enjoy working with numbers and love to work for a fashion brand? What is the job about?

As Accounting & Controlling Lead at Fabienne Chapot you carry the full responsibility of our entire bookkeeping for all our legal entities. You are also responsible for the annual report and contribute to the yearly audit, in close cooperation with our external accountant and the Head of Finance. Furthermore your responsibility includes VAT declarations, cashflow forecasting, bookkeeping of our payrolling, month- and year-end close and performance management. You will work with our ERP system (It’s Perfect) and bookkeeping system (Exact Online) to ensure accurate bookkeeping and execution of all finance processes.

We offer an end-to-end financial landscape, in which you will be fully involved. This includes end-to-end profit and loss statement, balance sheet and cashflow statement. Also you have multiple legal entities, of which two abroad, to manage. Furthermore we have various sales channels, each of them with their own treatment and exceptions.  


The Finance team consists furthermore of two assistant controllers and a Head of Finance, where you will report into. The role includes operational work, especially around critical processes, like the VAT declarations.

What will you do?

  • Carry the full responsibility of our entire bookkeeping for all legal entities 
  • Together with the external accountant, deliver the annual report and be part of the yearly audit

  • Do the quarterly VAT declarations 

  • Control the bookkeeping of our payroll

  • Execute accurate and timely month- and year-end closure

  • Analyze our financial results and prepare performance management decks 

  • Create cashflow forecasts, both on short term (next couple of weeks) as long term (next couple of months and/or next year)

  • Continuously improve our processes to improve accuracy and efficiency

  • Closely work together with the Head of Finance to improve the financial health of our company and create impactful insights for decision making


What do we ask from you?

  • 3+ years working experience, HBO/Bachelor degree or higher. Experience in a fashion company is an advantage. Experience in retail or FMCG is preferred 

  • Good level of English (written and spoken), Dutch would be an advantage

  • Well-developed experience and skillset with MS Excel (formula’s, pivot tables)

  • Proven knowledge on accounting, balance sheet, profit and loss statements and cashflow statements

  • Experience on working with an ERP system. Experience with It’s Perfect is an advantage 

  • Experience with Exact Online is an advantage

Fabienne Chapot is a woman's fashion brand born and raised in Amsterdam. We favor prints designed in-house, vivid colors, feminine tailoring and quirky details. We launch 2 collections a year, each consisting of 6 chapters. Our items are being sold in almost 1000 points of sale worldwide, in our online boutiques and 10 brand boutiques. Besides Amsterdam, we also have offices and showrooms in Munich and Antwerp.
