Design Intern

About Fabienne Chapot

Our story began in 2006, when self-made entrepreneur Fabienne Chapot founded her namesake brand in Amsterdam — uninspired by the bland palette of the market and driven to shake things up with fresh pops of colour and hand-painted prints. That ambition, courage and positive attitude turned into Fabienne Chapot as we know it today: a storytelling brand at heart, where feminine pieces are made to elevate the everyday, finished with signature embellishments and a personal touch that makes every piece unmistakably ours.

As a certified B Corp™, we blend high-energy, unapologetic style with a deeply responsible heart. Female empowerment, diversity and transparency are embedded in our DNA — from our supply chain to the vibrant culture across our headquarters in Amsterdam and our brand boutiques. We dream big, celebrate individuality and spread positivity in everything we touch. We celebrate all forms of identity, love and uniqueness — because the more colourful and diverse our world is, the more beautiful it becomes.

Join us as an intern and you become part of that same outspoken, passionate and optimistic energy. Not on the sidelines, but as a real member of the team: you work on live projects, get responsibility from day one and learn from colleagues who love to share what they know — together with a close-knit group of fellow interns.

Your Role

As Design Intern you are part of our Collection Design team and assist our designers throughout the design process — from first concept to tech pack. You work in a friendly, hands-on team of experienced designers who love to teach you the ins and outs of fashion design at a print-led brand.

Because you stay for a full season, you experience a complete design cycle: moodboards, colour cards, fabrics, fittings and the final collection overview. You build the technical skills that set you up for a career in design. This is a full-time, on-site internship at our Amsterdam HQ.

Your Tasks

  • Create technical drawings (flats) in Illustrator

  • Support the design team throughout the design process: moodboards, colour cards, fabric and trim research, comment files and tech packs

  • Assist with print and embellishment development, such as colourways and artwork adjustments

  • Create and update visual collection overviews

  • Assist during fittings and proto reviews

  • Keep the design studio, archive and fabric library organised, and support day-to-day studio tasks

Requirements

  • Enthusiasm for Fabienne Chapot and our values: personal, ambitious, positive, empowering and transparent, and a love for prints and embroidery

  • You are currently following or graduated recently from a Bachelor's or Master's programme (e.g. Fashion Design or Textile Design)

  • Strong Illustrator and Photoshop skills, including technical drawing

  • A portfolio that shows both your creativity and your technical drawing skills

  • A keen eye for detail, colour and print

  • Hands-on, proactive and a team player who can also work independently

  • Good communication skills in English; Dutch is a plus

  • Available full-time (5 days a week) for a minimum of 6 months

To Look Forward To

  • A real internship with responsibility from day one: live projects and plenty of room for your ideas

  • Coaching from experienced colleagues in your field (learn from the best!), with regular check-ins and evaluation moments to track your learning goals

  • An internship allowance of €450 per month (based on 40 hours per week)

  • A vibrant workspace at our waterfront headquarters in Amsterdam

  • Delicious and healthy team lunches, fresh snacks and Friday drinks overlooking the water

  • A close-knit group of fellow interns — we always have a core group of interns on board, which makes it extra fun!

  • 30% staff discount + Friends & Family discount after your probation period

  • First access to our (internal) sample sales
