Conscious choice: Ecovero
We endeavour to reduce our impact on the world around us and challenge the way we work. We’re not perfect just yet, but would love to share some of our progress behind the scenes.
One of our focus areas in becoming a more sustainable brand is the use of more sustainable materials. The majority of our garments are made from viscose. Viscose is a natural material, as it comes from wood. Because of this natural origin, it feels very comfortable on the skin and is a very breathable fabric. Aligned with our goal to use more sustainable fabrics we are currently looking at ways to make more sustainable choices when it comes to using viscose. We found a more sustainable alternative that maintains the same look and feel: Ecovero from Lenzing.
Benefits
This smart fabric is less harmful to the environment because fewer chemicals are used in the process of making the yarn. Moreover, the raw material wood comes from certified and controlled wood sources. Watch the video to learn more about the benefits of this fabric.
Since 2020, we have been using more Ecovero from Lenzing instead of viscose. In the future we will also mix Ecovero with regular viscose to maintain a certain look and feel, but the fabrics which are online now are made from 100% Ecovero.

We’re proud to introduce our first 100% Ecovero styles, which are the Hall Skirt and Lily Blouse in the Snow Cats print. This is only just the beginning, as you can expect many more styles in this smart fabric in our SS21 collection.

We will keep you up to date on all the progress we make on our sustainability page. For more information or if you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to send an e-mail to sustainability@fabiennechapot.com
